Reporting something

Any photo on the public map can be reported from inside the app: open it and choose Report. Anyone in your circle can be blocked from the Circle screen, which hides both of you from each other and closes any conversation. Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours, and anything several people report is hidden automatically in the meantime.

If something needs attention faster than that, or involves a child or someone’s safety, email us with “urgent” in the subject line.

Common things

• A photo hasn’t appeared. Photos develop the morning after they’re taken. One captured without signal uploads by itself when you have a connection.
• You forgot your recovery passphrase. If the app still holds your key, set a new passphrase under Settings → Privacy lock. Do it before changing phones; without the key, encrypted captions and exact locations cannot be recovered.
• Deleting your account. Settings → Delete account. It is immediate and permanent.
